Shared Journeys, the trip planning app from Locker One Ventures, LLC, lets you delete your account yourself from inside the app. You do not have to write to us and you do not have to wait.
Delete it in the app
- Open Shared Journeys and sign in
- Tap More in the bottom bar
- Tap Profile
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account
- Confirm. It happens immediately and cannot be undone
If you organize a trip, you will be asked to hand it to another traveler or delete the trip first. That is deliberate: a group part way through a journey should not lose the itinerary they are travelling on.
Delete it by writing to us
If you cannot reach the app, email privacy@sharedjourneys.co from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We do it within 30 days and write back when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address, phone number and password
- Your profile and cover photos, bio, home address, date of birth and preferences
- Your passport number, expiry date and any passport image you uploaded
- Your flight details and the booking documents you uploaded
- Your dietary restrictions, medical needs and emergency contact
- Your payment handles for Venmo, PayPal, Zelle and Apple Cash
- Photos you uploaded, and your comments and likes
- Your group and direct messages
- Your membership of every trip, and your packing list
- Your notification device tokens, so nothing can be sent to you again
What is kept, and for how long
- Trips you did not organize carry on without you. Itinerary days, accommodation and announcements belong to the trip, not to you, so the other travelers keep them.
- Expenses you entered that other people are still settling stay on the trip as a record of the amount, with your name removed. Deleting an account does not cancel a debt between two people.
- Ordinary server logs, which include an IP address and the time of a request, are kept for up to 90 days for security and then deleted automatically.
- Backups roll off within 30 days. Nothing is restored from them except to recover the service itself.
Removing some of your information without deleting your account
You can clear most fields yourself: open More, then Profile, and empty the ones you want gone, including passport, dietary and medical details. For anything you cannot reach, write to privacy@sharedjourneys.co and say what you want removed. We answer within 30 days.
